INFORMATION ABOUT INCOMING MAIL
Students at SouthwesternDue to student requests and the large volume of spam messages that students were receiving, spam filtering is set very high on incoming mail. IMPORTANT: As a result, we cannot guarantee that you will receive all mail from off-campus senders. We can guarantee, however, that you will receive all mail sent from individuals and departments on the Southwestern campus. If you have difficulty receiving mail from an outside source, we recommend that you create a Microsoft Hotmail account for that purpose.

OFFICIAL POLICY FOR STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNTS
POP3 service is not available with this account. You need to access your email via the web from this login page. The good news is that you can access your mail from any point that you have Internet access.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We have been adjusting the spam filter so that you can receive legitimate, non-spam mail from off-campus senders. Unfortunately, this means that you may receive a greater number of spam messages. Most of these should be flagged as spam and automatically sent to a "bulk" folder in your mail account. You may want to periodically search through the "bulk" folder to see if it contains messages that you might be expecting (legitmate messages that were flagged as spam). Note that a "bulk" folder will not be generated in your account if you do not receive messages flagged as spam. The first time you receive a message flagged as spam, a "bulk" folder will be generated in your account and that message will be stored there.
